AR For Commerce

Augmented Reality.
For Commerce?

“How can AR help my business” is a very reasonable question.

The technology may seem as though it is in its infancy, but just because something is new doesn’t quite mean that it doesn’t have its benefits.

We just need to look to the QR code for that. Initially created in the 1990s, it seems widespread adoption of the technology is finally happening.

Utilising the camera that almost everyone has in their pockets. AR is a fantastic tool for any business owner looking to improve their store, as well as make their customers lives easier.

From allowing customers to be transported into a virtual store, to see how they’d look wearing a specific item to transporting them into strange, new worlds (just like Netflix did with their Stranger Things lens on Snapchat)

Utilising AR to give the customer the feeling and knowing of owning a product before they purchase is important. How much easier is it to sell a huge television when the customer can already visualise how it will look in the room and make plans around that. It allows the product to sell itself. That’s only the start of AR for e-commerce. Imagine being able to view a hotel room before you check in to see if it is right.

What if you could sit inside a new car (from the comfort of your own home) to see if it comfortably fits your family.

It is such an important tool for businesses and even in research by Adweek, they discovered that 2 out of 3 shoppers would use branded AR for their shopping and they also agree that they are also likely to purchase after experiencing a branded AR experience.

"AR for business is only the first step in integrating the customer deeper into your business and allowing the products to sell themselves. The potential for growth here is massive, especially if you were to get in on the ground floor - as it were."
