Anti-Aging Drugs

Could Anti-Aging Drugs rejuvenate our immune systems?

BioAge labs have discovered that certain anti-aging drugs have slowed or reversed the decline of the immune system. Using statins, the company have ran clinical trials and have discovered that drugs targeting the enzyme “mTOR” have not only expanded lifespan on mice, but can also be used to improve the way that older people’s immune systems fight respiratory tract infections.

Whilst their research is still to be published it has been hotly discussed as something that could save lives if we find ourselves in a similar situation with Covid. As aging is and was the biggest risk factor for covid.

Being able to modify this risk and possibly with enough research remove this risk all together by allowing our immune systems to stay at the level of that healthy 20 year old is amazing and is only one of many future applications for research such as this!
